A nature drive through Arusha National Park is the ideal way to begin or complement your Tanzanian safari. Often referred to as the “small Serengeti,” the park’s open grasslands offer frequent sightings of giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and more.
As you journey through the mountain forests, keep your eyes peeled for blue monkeys, turacos, trogon birds, and the rare and elegant black-and-white colobus monkeys. Deep within the forest lies Ngurdoto Crater, where buffalo and warthogs roam in peaceful seclusion.
Though lesser-known, Arusha is home to around 200 elephants and more than 400 species of birds, making it a nature lover’s paradise.
